Next-generation search is on its way. Microsoft recently stated that the influence of AI on our lives will be as significant as that of the PC and the internet. The company expected it because it invested billions of dollars in OpenAI, the manufacturer of ChatGPT.

As part of a new premium service, Microsoft is integrating the technology behind OpenAI’s immensely popular chatbot ChatGPT into Teams. The AI will be used to streamline meetings by automating notes and proposing activities based on the talks that occur during the call. It comes as OpenAI offers its own ChatGPT premium plan, and according to a new report, the tool had 100 million monthly active users in January, making it the fastest-growing consumer app in history.

We have also heard that’s soon the groundbreaking AI tool ChatGPT will be integrated into the Microsoft Bing search engine. Now we’ve had a sneak peek at how that integration may operate and look in your browser.

Owen Yin tested the impending upgrade for a short amount of time before getting kicked out. The ChatGPT interface is familiar to anyone who has used it before. You’ll get a popup on the screen to ask for information or assistance with just about anything.

Apparently, you have 1,000 characters to work with. Searching for art and craft ideas for a child using certain materials is one example. So, this is the type of query that ChatGPT excels at, and you would not get much help from Google.

Bing enhanced ChatGPT will also tell you where it received its information. Beneath the replies, you’ll notice a list of sources, similar to Wikipedia. That implies you can, to some extent, verify the accuracy of what ChatGPT says.

Search and more Capabilities

According to this leak, traditional search results will not be fully eliminated. They’ll be available on a separate screen. In the toolbar at the top, you can choose between an old-fashioned list of blue links and the future of search.

And it does seem like the traditional manner of searching is a little out of date now. That is part of the reason why Google workspace‘s parent company is gearing up to introduce its own version of this technology. If you’ve ever done a standard online search, you’ll know that the results aren’t always informative.

A more conversational approach, such as that provided by ChatGPT, allows for much greater precision and flexibility. Another thing is instead of searching for ideas for speeches or you can use the AI engine to compose a wedding speech. Similarly, rather than searching for travel itineraries online use it to plan a road trip on its own. You can do so by improving the results using natural language.

ChatGPT changing the Microsoft Word

Project Turing has already enabled several AI-powered capabilities in Microsoft Office, now known as Microsoft 365. Since 2017, it has included Assistive AI tools for recommended email responses and ‘Smart Find’ for searching your documents.

However, ChatGPT offers to work in tandem with Microsoft’s own AI research to boost those functions and uncover new ones. Microsoft’s collaboration with ChatGPT, because of its expertise in language processing and data analysis, might aid in this.

Microsoft is apparently interested in incorporating ChatGPT features into its Microsoft Office 365 suite as well. Furthermore, providing assistance with authoring letters, creating PowerPoint slides, and sending emails. We’ll all be depending on artificial intelligence a lot more in the near future.
