The platform is introducing new security alerts for admins for improved security.

Google Workspace users, as well as previous G Suite Basic and Business users, are now receiving a new upgrade. It has the potential to avoid significant cybersecurity mishaps.

Google revealed that Workspace administrators would benefit from this update. They will receive notifications every time if important and sensitive changes are made to their setups.

These intelligent warnings would closely monitor many sensitive events. It will assist administrators in keeping their surroundings under control and deleting potentially dangerous actions as they occur.

When the primary admin changes the administrators will receive an alert. Similarly, administrators will receive notifications when an SSO profile is added, changed, or removed, and the password for super admins is reset.

Google explained that for each alert, both admins and super admins would receive an email with critical information about the incident that occurred.

The company intends to roll out notifications for more high-risk actions with time. However, it has not yet specified which ones. This update will be delivered gradually, and soon it will be made available to all users.

Google says these features are ON by default and cannot be turned off. So Ii you don’t like the idea that you’ll be getting even more email notifications, you just have to deal with it. This update will have no effect on end-users in any manner.

Admin accounts are always in great demand among hackers because they provide unrestricted access to the target infrastructure and endpoints. They also provide you the option to customize the settings in whatever way you choose.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak and the shift to remote working, virtual collaboration suites like Google Workspace have been incredibly ubiquitous. As a result, becoming extremely tempting to cybercriminals. Hence this feature will be great for cybersecurity.
